17 Simple Ways To Invest In Yourself
How to invest in yourself?
Everybody keeps saying, “An investment in yourself is the best investment with the highest dividends”. The real question is, how many people really know how to do it? The best investment may not be the most complicated, and it is important to know how to go about it.
Hello viewers, welcome to another intriguing blog from me, Antoaneta. As always, all the blogs are structured to help you achieve all your life goals, so if you have not subscribed to my newsletter, you may be missing out. Some of the information I share in the blogs on my channel is highly sought after.
In this blog, however, I will be discussing some simple ways you can invest in yourself. It’s actually not as difficult as people make it to be. I will explain these ways in the best way possible to encourage you to make that ultimate investment in yourself:
Meet different people
There are billions of people in this world. All of them have different ideologies and principles. How do you become more experienced in the ways of Life? By talking to these people and learning from their experiences. Do not live in an ideology bubble where you are always in contact with people who see things the way you do. Exposure to new ideas and concepts enhances growth. Meeting and talking to people can lead you to my next point.
Make new and worthy friends
Worthy friends are your imaginary bodyguards. The better the quality of your network, the higher you can go in Life. Someone once said, “Your net worth is directly proportional to your network,” and it is very hard to dispute that. Invest your time in quality friendship, or you will be missing a big piece of this jigsaw puzzle called life. If you have good friends and the friendship is fading, it probably means that nobody found enough time to make the required investments.
Try having a mentor
Sometimes, people feel they are going through a lot. Well, even though that may be true, there is definitely someone that went through whatever problem it is you are going through now, and that person may well help you on your rough path. There is a reason people have professors and project supervisors to help them on their way. So, you can always see your Life and challenges as the project and your mentor as the supervisor.
Try to learn a new language
What did we discuss about meeting people? Learning new languages can go a long way in building your social skillset because it is a great feeling to travel to a new place, meet new people and still be able to connect with them through their languages.
Read books to enhance mental growth
This is one of the basic and most effective ways to invest in yourself. Most books are a summary of the knowledge and experience people have gathered over the years. Most people lose interest in reading books because their parents and teachers have forced them to read boring books over the years.
Well, there is a simple way to go about it, “Learn to love to read by reading what you love first”. For those who generally feel reading is boring, no matter what they are told, there are audio files that read out the books to you without requiring you to hold a book yourself.
Visit places to acquire more knowledge
The more travels you make, the better your chances of understanding what life is all about. Travel reduces your ability to be self-centred, and you get to learn and understand the way other people think, their ideas, customs, and traditions. There is a difference between being a tourist and a traveller.
A tourist spends money while travelling, but a traveller gains a wealth of experience while spending money. Reading books and watching videos is never enough. The real experience is always necessary.
Understand that health is wealth
You must have gotten tired of hearing that health is wealth, but that is one basic principle of Life that can never be over-emphasized. If you do not invest your wealth in your health now, your wealth may not be enough to salvage what is left of your health in the future.
Master things through teaching
Have you ever wondered why professors are so good at what they do? It is simply because they have been teaching over the years. This is one of the most overlooked ways to invest in yourself, but it is highly effective. Learning should be more than memorizing, and teaching someone helps you to understand and even learn more.
Be aware of your environment
Being able to understand your environment is a good investment in yourself. It increases efficiency and helps you get better with time management. Knowing where your items are at all times makes it better to find and use them, saving you time and making you more efficient.
You do not need to be a minimalist in order to be aware of your environment. People all around the world keep struggling with the awareness of their environment, and if you are one of them, this blog is for you.
Make some sales
There is more to selling than just exchanging goods for money, and many people are yet to understand that. To make good sales, many things have to work together like your interaction with people, your ability with numbers, and your ability to anticipate and become proactive, amongst other things.
This is why making sales can help you become better. Knowing that you do not want any losses would help you sharpen your skills and make better sales. That way, you are making massive investments in yourself.
Strive to have a passive income
Nobody becomes wealthy except by having multiple income streams. 9-5 jobs never make anyone a millionaire. I am not saying you should quit your jobs.
All I am saying is find multiple income streams as you do your daily jobs. Be sure that these income streams are not dependent on your physical presence and work.
There is this feeling that comes with getting income even while you are not working, and it sure is a great feeling. You really don’t need to keep working for money all your Life. At some point, you need to let money work for you.
Build a good image
You are addressed by the way you dress, right? So, first things first, you need to have a good appearance. People are prone to instantly like or dislike you based on how you are dressed.
Improve your fitness and personal hygiene. Then, you need to work on your image generally. Social media profiles can be a great place to start.
Build your skills by taking courses
Acquiring skills can be compared to software updates for devices. The more updates you carry out, the better your device is. In the same vein, the more skills you acquire, the better you are as a person.
Learn the basics and fundamentals and always be safe in the knowledge that nobody can take these skills away from you. Look at things this way, and if you see investing in yourself as being expensive, then maybe your life is cheap.
Always try to work on creative ideas:
Creativity adds value to Life, and there is no better way to flex your creative muscles than by exposing yourself to different types of art. Beauty and art should be able to inspire you and make you ask the relevant questions.
Work with better tools and equipment
This point is really straightforward. Better tools and equipment help improve your work quality and time. Always invest in the equipment and tools that make it possible to bring in more money efficiently. Spending money on things that make money is not a waste of money; always remember that.
Do not always take NO for an answer
There is this thing called self-belief. Whenever you think you can’t, remind yourself why you started in the first place. Invest more time in building your self-belief and self-confidence, and in the long run, you would see some changes in the way you handle your day-to- day issues.
Do whatever makes you happy
Investing in yourself is the same as investing in your happiness. As people, there are different things that give us satisfaction, no matter how weird other people may think it is. Keep doing it because happiness has a way of making you a better person.
